Absolutely LOVE this!

Wean Me Gently

I know I look so big to you,

Maybe I seem too big for the needs I have.

But no matter how big we get,

We still have needs that are important to us.

I know that our relationship is growing and changing,

But I still need you. I need your warmth and closeness,

Especially at the end of the day

When we snuggle up in bed.

Please don't get too busy for us to nurse.

I know you think I can be patient,

Or find something to take the place of a nursing -

A book, a glass of something,

But nothing can take your place when I need you.

Sometimes just cuddling with you,

Having you near me is enough.

I guess I am growing and becoming independent,

But please be there.

This bond we have is so strong and so important to me,

Please don't break it abruptly.

Wean me gently,

Because I am your mother,

And my heart is tender.

Not wordless Wednesday....

Yesterday I learned of a poor mama who lost her four month old baby girl on Friday. She has a blog, and has written all about it. She is such a strong woman...I dont know how she is keeping it together..how will she go on? A perfectly healthy thriving little beautiful princess when dropped off at the sitter...then just...gone...I cant even begin to imagine the pain. My heart is ACHING for this little baby and her family, especially her mama. Its really bothering me..to the point where I'm not going to be on Facebook today cuz thats what everyones posting about. Everyones putting bows in their daughters hair in honor of this baby, cuz thats what the mama is requesting we all do today...I dont think I can...I dont want to be reminded of the awfullness of it everytime I look at my own precious baby girl. Today I will be sad. Why do things like this have to happen?

My reasons for living post #2- Beaner

Beaner, Beanzy, B. My Beautiful "almost" teen mini-me :)Not really though...she's such an individual...beautiful, loving, sweet, kind, bitchy sometimes too....like me. She's my best friend! She loves all things horror, been watching scary movies with me since I can remember. She is going to be a FABULOUS mom someday. So interested in all aspects of baby rearing the "right" way, which to us means attachment parenting. She gets terribly disturbed when she hears of a baby being left to "cry it out" or getting circumcised, or being fed formula by choice...not necessity. She helps with little sweet pea so much, and just loves her to death. Every day I feel extremely lucky to have her, and that she loves me..most of the time, lol. I hope she knows how much I love her..I try to make sure she knows. Did I say how beautiful she is??? True happiness!

My reasons for living post #1 -"Bub"

While I have a few minutes, I decided to write a short blurb about each of my wonderful kids. I'll go from oldest to youngest. Bubby I used to call him when he was little. Now he's BIG, taller than me now, with a deep manly voice. Almost 15, and still very sweet. He's a good boy, and I tell him alot, I hope I tell him often enough, (cuz he's sensitive too) I hope he knows. He's a tremendous help around the house, doing dishes, and alot of other household chores I can barely keep up with since our little Sweet Pea was born. He's always willing to lend a hand, and he's so eager to learn. I'm VERY proud of the man he's turning into! My first sweet baby...I learned so much from him. And I love him with all my heart and soul!!!

Let's Get Social Sunday

Make some friends!!!

Nursing in public

I know there's always alot of crap going on in the news or other social media about women nursing their babies in public. Just a glimpse of one of these breast-bashing articles can ruin my whole day. Especially when its a WOMAN who is doing the bashing! ( http://www.herald.ie/opinion/columnists/marisa-mackle/marisa-mackle-breast-is-best-when-its-not-in-public-2508344.html)
Why oh why cant breastfeeding just be the "normal" thing to do? I'm not going to go on and on about breasts being sexualized in this country, and women being made to feel ashamed about feeding their babies, because I could go on forever. I'm just very passionate about breastfeeding whenever and wherever I am...it's my RIGHT, and it's my baby's right. If someone doesnt like it...well then dont look! You cant see anything anyways, but my baby's head! If I'm in a restaurant, or in a store, and my babe gets hungry, or just wants to nurse..YES, I will throw the boob in her mouth! Its called PARENTING! I could really care less about anyone else's comfort level, I mean seriously..JUST TURN AWAY! People make breastfeeding in public about themselves, when it is SO the opposite! There is always going to be SOMETHING that SOMEONE isnt comfortable with. People really need to just get over it. AND women who did, or are breastfeeding and believe that you should cover up, or go into the BATHROOM to nurse!!! What is wrong with you people???

Love this.....

Children Learn What They LiveBy Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph.D.

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

The introductory post, lol

I Spose I should have done an intro as my first post, but being scatter-brained n all...:)
At any given point during the day, I'm doing a million different things...at the same time..so I'll be lucky to actually have some coherent posts!  I'm 38, might as well call it 40, gah! I have 5 AWESOME kids, ages 14,12, just about 7, 5, and a sweet four month old. My kids and my hubby are my entire life, they make me so happy. We're a homeschooling family, this is our second year, and I cant even explain how wonderful it is to watch my kids grow and thrive, and be happy, and pursue what THEY are interested in! Sooooo, this blog'll be about probably a million different things. I'm passionate about alot, and will probably write about everything that makes me..me!

Stir crazy???

So...as a homeschooling family, we pretty much have the freedom to persue any activities we please...no longer being bound to the public school schedule. :) That being said...We are going stir crazy!!!!! There has been a major snowfall every week since Christmas! And cold... this morning it was -7!! It is such a major ordeal to get the little ones bundled up, then me and the baby..by the time we're ready for outside, everyone's sweating, and ready to come in again, lol. Then once we're out there comes the famous words.."I hafta pee!!" So mostly we've been hangin inside. There are so many activities we'd like to do, but most involve going out to purchase something. I need some ideas on fun things to do with 5 kids from things you'd ordinarily have on hand!
